2025-2026 Volunteer Interest Form

Our volunteers are the key to success of our school and it's students. Please check below to see what areas may be of interest. 

 

Please remember you have to be cleared to volunteer through PISD and the clearance can sometimes take weeks. Please fill out the background check TODAY. All volunteers are required to complete a security application and background check each year. Applications can be completed after July 1st and clearance expires June 30th every year. The volunteer application is online at www.planovoly.org.

Please go through the list below to see which opportunities you might be interested in. You can check as many as you would like.  

 

We would love each family to choose an opportunity to volunteer.  The smile on their face is worth it! No previous experience is required for ANY of the Volunteer Opportunities.

 

For follow up on your volunteer status, please contact the school(s) you are volunteering at 2-3 business days AFTER submission of your volunteer application. One Time Yearly Event Volunteer Opportunities

Below are annual volunteer opportunities.  If you do not have a desire to manage a committee or attend monthly meetings, but DO want to participate at your student's yearly event this is a great way to help out!


Field Day
Assist the Chair and the PE Teachers in setting up and running the Field Day Games. This is a one-time event during the school day on Oct. 10. There are three shifts: 8:15 a.m. - Noon; Noon - 2:30 p.m. & ALL DAY (lunch provided for all day volunteers).

Carnival
Assist the Carnival Chair to organize, setup, and work shifts at the carnival. This would be a one time event on Oct. 24 from 6-8 p.m. Setup would happen during the school day, and take down would happen immediately after the event until 9 p.m.


Book Fair Helpers
Two volunteers are needed for each shift of the book Fair. These positions run the registers (very simple digital kiosk), help students shop, and restock as necessary. The Book Fair is Dec. 8 - 12 during lunch periods and after school. Dec. 11 is an evening assembly for the whole family, and Dec. 12 is a grand friends lunch. We will need extra help on those two days.


Glow Party/Dance
Assist the Ways and Means Chair in planning and executing the spring Fundraiser. This is a one-time event that occurs in the spring on April 10 from 6-8 p.m.


Derby Day
Volunteer to help with the Saigling Derby Day during the specials period on May 13. Work with Chairman of Ways and Means and PE teachers to help students master the obstacle course.


Room Parent
Room Parents are responsible for three classroom level parties a year: Winter Party, Friendship Party, and End of Year Party. You must be available to be at each of the parties and help with the End of Year Party. The Room Parent sign up will come from the teachers in early November. Please note, checking this box does not sign you up to be a room Parent, you must sign up via the teacher sign up sheet in early November.


Dad's Opportunities

Join Dad's Crew
Volunteer with the Dad's crew for various events throughout the year. Dad's crew offers assistance with event setup and take down as well as various projects.


Watch D.O.G.S.
Dad's of Great Students help on campus for one day. The day is decided between your and the classroom's availability. Typically a Watch Dogs duties start at carpool, and last until dismissal.


Monthly, Bi-Monthly and Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

Here are opportunities to volunteer on a monthly, bi-monthly or weekly basis.


Lunchroom Monitor
Work in the lunchroom during lunch time to assist the teachers by watching the students and assisting them when they need help (i.e. opening milk and food items). This would be a chosen day to work throughout the school year. (Two volunteers max. daily) Grade Needed: Kinder 12:10-12:40 p.m. First Grade 11:30-12:00 p.m.


Environmental Program
Assist the Environmental Chair on education and landscaping enhancements for the school


Literacy Link
You will be assigned to sit and read with a child who needs a little extra reading time. It requires as little as 15 minutes a week to as much time as you can volunteer. This would be a chosen day and time frame to work throughout the school year.
